As you may know this year we’ve held a number of fundraising activities to support our charity of the year and help us hit our £15,000 pledge. We chose Home-Start Bristol as our 2021 Charity and now we’re on the lookout for our next one – could it be you?
2022 Charity of the Year: Home-Start Bristol
Home-Start Bristol provide free confidential support and help to parents who are struggling and have at least one child under 5 in the Bristol Gloucestershire area. Volunteers of the charity are all parents themselves and visit said families offering emotional and practical support to help them through difficult times. Their work was even more vital through Covid and lockdown with many people needing additional support. Although part of a larger charity they themselves are small and get limited support and funding which is why we chose to support them.
Our fundraising activities
Despite being off to a slow start thanks to the lockdown at the beginning of the year we’ve still managed to run a number of fundraising activities including:
Cheltenham Race Day
We asked some of our clients to choose a horse to bet on in aid of the charity, with all winnings going to Home-Start.
Euros Sweepstake
We held an internal sweepstake for the Euros this year and donated 8 teams to Home-Start.
Pen y Fan & Bath to Bristol Hike
The team took part in either climbing the Pen Y Fan, the highest mountain in the Brecon Beacons or walking the 13-mile Bath to Bristol route.
Charity Evening
To finish off our fundraising for 2021 we are holding an end of year Charity Evening for clients at Ashton Gate football stadium with food, drink, a quiz and a raffle with some huge prizes with all proceeds going to Home-Start.
2022 selection process
With 2021 now coming to an end we’re looking to start the selection process for our 2022 Charity of the Year. We’re looking to support a small local charity where any fundraising we do will make a real difference. If it’s a charity we can volunteer our time to as well – even better! We will shortlist 5 charities to meet with (in person or virtually) to find out more about them and how we can support them and from there we will choose one.
